Rafique R. Bhimjee

Mr. Rafique R. Bhimjee is B.Sc (Hons) in Management Science, University of Warwick, MBA in Finance from City University, London and a “Certified Director” from Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance.

He has worked overseas in Merrill Lynch Asset Management, New York and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.

Mr. Rafique Bhimjee was the Chairman of EFU General Insurance Ltd. from February 1999 to July 2011 and became Chairman of EFU Life Assurance Ltd in July 2011. He is also a Director of Allianz EFU Health Insurance Ltd. and EFU Services (Pvt.) Ltd.

Taher Ghulamhusein Sachak

Mr. Taher G. Sachak is a graduate in Business Studies from Bournemouth University, and also has a post-graduate Diploma in Management Studies from Liverpool University. Following his studies, he joined the British Civil Service and after 5 years decided to pursue a career in life assurance. He held executive positions in major UK Life Assurance Companies, Allied Dunbar, Trident Life and finally Century Life before coming to Pakistan in 1993 to join EFU Life.

He was Chief Executive & Managing Director of EFU Life Assurance Limited from November 1993 to July 2023. He is now the Vice Chairman of EFU Life and a Director of EFU General Insurance. He is also a "Certified Director" from Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance.

Mohammed Ali Ahmed

Mr. Mohammed Ali Ahmed is the MD & CEO of EFU Life, bringing over three decades of professional experience in the insurance industry, including eight years with the public sector insurer. He is an Actuary by qualification and a Certified Director from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.

Prior to being appointed as CEO, Ali was the Chief Strategy Officer at EFU Life. In the earlier part of his career, he started as a trainee, and over the last three decades has risen through the ranks to reach an executive management level. Over the years, Ali has been directly responsible for driving product innovation, investment fund management, distribution channels, growth segments and brand development, while also shaping and implementing the company’s long-term strategy with the Board. Ali is an advocate for financial inclusion and is a regular speaker at local and international forums on leadership, diversity and inclusivity, technology shifts, distribution and market outreach, and change management as well as topics on social and economic development.

Saifuddin N. Zoomkawala

Mr. Saifuddin N. Zoomkawala has been associated with EFU Group since 1964. He served as Managing Director of EFU

General Insurance Ltd, from 1990 till 2011 when he was elected Chairman of the Company. He was also Chairman of EFU Life Assurance Ltd, from 1999 to 2011. He is also on the Board of Fakhr-e-Imdad Foundation.

Hasanali Abdullah

Mr. Hasanali Abdullah is Chartered Accountant and Certified Director from Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG). He is associated with EFU General Insurance Limited since 1979. He was Managing Director & Chief Executive of EFU General Insurance Limited from July, 2011 to July, 2023 and is now its Vice Chairman. He is Director of EFU Services (Private) Ltd., Tourism Promotion Services (Pakistan) Ltd. (owners of Serena Hotels), Honorary Treasurer of Aga Khan Hospital & Medical College Foundation, Member of National Committee of Pakistan Branch of Aga Khan University Foundation Geneva. He has served on the Boards, Council and Committees of various Aga Khan Development Network institutions from 1976 to 2002. He has been Chairman of Insurance Association of Pakistan for 2008, 2010 - 11 and 2016 - 17, Chairman of Pakistan Insurance Institute 2014 - 15 and from January, 2020 to July, 2020, Director of Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance for 2011, Executive Committee Member of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industries for 2011 & 2017, Director of Institute of Financial Markets of Pakistan from 2016 to 2022 and Vice President of German - Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry from 2021 to 2022.

Asad Nasir

Mr. Nasir is the present Chief Executive Officer of Jahangir Siddiqui & Co Ltd. (“JSCL”)

Mr. Nasir overall has more than 20 years of diversified financial services experience including Private Equity, Corporate Finance Advisory, Capital Market Advisory, Transaction Services and Audit. Prior to joining JSCL, Mr. Nasir was Group Head, Ecosystem Development and Sustainable Finance at JS Bank Limited where he had been overseeing a number of strategic projects in the digital banking and green financial services space. Before that he had served as the Chief Investment Officer for JS Private Equity and the Pakistan Catalyst Fund, a USD 50 million private equity fund which included USAID in its investors. He had also served as Head, Corporate Finance at JS Global Capital, a leading Pakistani securities brokerage and investment banking firm where he had advised some of Pakistan’s leading companies on fundraising, mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructurings. Mr. Nasir had commenced his professional career with Deloitte UK, working as part of the audit & assurance and corporate finance teams.

He is an FCA with the Institute of Chartered Accountant in England and Wales and holds a BSc. (Hons.) in Accounting from the University of Hull.

Daanish Bhimjee

Mr. Daanish Bhimjee is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in the finance sector. He currently serves as a Managing Director at Barclays Investment Bank in London. Prior to Barclays, he has held significant roles at Rothschild and Standard Chartered Bank Throughout his career, Daanish has provided expert advice to senior management and boards of large, global companies, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, and capital raising to drive growth and value creation. Daanish is a Chartered Accountant, accredited by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He earned his degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge.

Rukhsana Shah

Ms. Rukhsana Shah joined the government of Pakistan after her CSS in 1979. She served as Economic Counsellor at the Pakistan High Commission in London, DG Textiles at the Export Promotion Bureau, Directing Staff at the National School of Public Policy, Senior Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Commerce and retired as Federal Secretary, Ministry of Textile Industry in Islamabad after 35 years of government service.

In 2015, she set up the Autism Welfare Trust in Lahore, with an office in Karachi, to create awareness about Autism, ADHD and Learning Disabilities in Pakistan, and to train parents and teachers of special and mainstream schools in the management of these disabilities. From January 2016, she served as a nominee director of the Ministry of Finance on the Board of First Women Bank Limited for three years. At present, she is an independent director of Suzuki Motor Company in Pakistan and Trustee of Future Trust.

She completed her Directors' Training Programme in December 2017 from LUMS. She has served as a member of the Child Care Commission set up by the Chief Justice of Lahore High Court in 2018 and is on various government and civil society Committees relating to Inclusive Education and Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Rukhsana Shah also writes for Dawn on Disability, and Social and Human Rights issues, and paints in her spare time.

Ruhail Muhammad

Mr. Ruhail Muhammad's career spans over 40 years in general management, business development, strategy, financial planning, and people development. He has held several C-suite leadership roles across organizations operating in diverse sectors, ranging from chemicals to energy.

He is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Lucky Electric Power Company Limited, a 660 MW PP subsidiary of Lucky Cement. Prior to this role, he was the CEO of Hub Power Holdings Ltd. a subsidiary of HUBCO, Pakistan's largest IPP. In this capacity, he led the management of HUBCO’s growth portfolio, including the evaluation of onshore and offshore acquisitions, project financing, economic evaluation of growth projects, and financial re-engineering to support the growth vision of the Company.

Throughout his career, he has served on the boards of several prominent organizations, including Engro Corporation and its subsidiaries, K-Electric, NBP Funds, Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance, British Overseas School, KP Energy Board (PEDO), and as Chairman of Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited.

Currently, he serves as the Chairman of Pakistan Stock Exchange and Dawood Lawrencepur Limited and is a board member of Lucky Electric Power Company Limited and other Lucky Group entities, Network of Organizations Working For People With Disabilities in Pakistan (NOWPDP-NGO), EFU Life Assurance Ltd. and Karachi Education Initiative (KSBL). He is a CFA Charter Holder and holds an MBA degree from the Institute of Business Administration, Pakistan. He has attended the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD as well as an Agri-Business certification from the Harvard Business School.

Ahsen Ahmed

Ahsen Ahmed has been working in the textile sector for over 15 years. He has developed and researched new components for textile auxiliaries. He has also developed multiple performance filament yarns for specialized applications. He has also contributed in the export-oriented textile sector by setting up the weaving industry and buying house for denim garment for the purpose of export.

He has a degree in Economics from Denison University, Granville, Ohio. Currently, he holds directorship in Abid Industries and Sind Industries since 2003. In addition to that, he is also a director in Denim Dynamics from 2017.

He has served in the board of Machinery Equipment Ltd. also from 2003 to 2013; JS Global Capital Ltd. from 2006 to 2012 and JSIL from 2013 to 2019.

Syed Saad Salman

Saad began his career as an Analyst at Citibank, before moving to the Corporate & Investment Banking Division of Allied Bank Limited (ABL). He later transitioned into entrepreneurship and private investment, becoming an investor in and subsequently Chief Executive Officer of Falcon-I (Pvt.) Limited, Pakistan’s largest IoT-based fleet management and telematics company. Under his leadership, Falcon-I scaled from an early-stage startup into an industry leader serving major corporate and public-sector clients.

Saad focuses on export-oriented, technology-driven investments with strong sustainability and climate impact and serves on the boards of Vlektra, BioMasdar, and DeliveryDevs. He has also led a pioneering data-driven emissions-reduction research initiative in collaboration with the University of Chicago, supported by the International Growth Centre at the London School of Economics, with additional academic input from the University of Oxford under UK FCDO-funded programs.

Saad holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from Durham University (UK). He has undertaken MBA studies at the University of Oxford and Executive Education at IMD (Switzerland). He is associated with the CFA Program (Level II), Certified from CSC (Canada) and Certified Director from Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance.
